True Meaning Of Christmas

You may think that you know it all, and you probably do.

Yes, Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. We were taught this at an early age and have known this our whole lives through. Ask yourself this though-how often do you really stop to think about the meaning of the season?

We get so wrapped up in the hustle bustle that it’s easy to quickly lose sight about what Christmas is all about. If you think that you’re above this, then think about how often you get caught up in the baking, shopping, and mailing cards and forget to reflect on this.

It doesn’t make us bad, but it does take away from the importance and the very virtue of the season. If you are looking to host a traditional Christmas and be successful at it, then it’s important to re-educate yourself on what the season is all about. Stay with the lessons and remember that no matter how busy the season may get, there is a “reason for the season”.

So how does this make a difference in how we host our traditional Christmas? Why is it important to remember what the season is all about as we dive into planning everything?

Sometimes if we get back to basics and really reflect on why we celebrate Christmas, it may make our approach much simpler. There’s something to be said for simple and sometimes understated elegance.

Have you ever sat down to really reflect on the meaning of Christmas as you thumbed through recipe books? Have you thought about how you will teach your children how to give in this season? We get very wrapped up in the giving and receiving of gifts that sometimes the meaning escapes us.

Christmas is not just about presents. This season is about being together, sharing family traditions new and old, giving, and making people feel good.
