Stop & Smell The Roses
Get back to
the joy of Christmas, that’s the most important lesson to learn. Embrace the celebration that you are going to host
and don’t make it so hard on yourself.
Oftentimes
those of us who have the most stress at this time of year put too much pressure on ourselves. Don’t let the
anticipation and excitement slip away!
Though the
family may all be busy, take a couple of hours one night to drive around and look at Christmas lights. Make an
extra trip to Church one week or keep an Advent wreath and really reflect on it.
The
anticipation of it all is often what brings us the most joy.
If you go
through life on fast forward all the time, then you’re bound to miss something along the way. Don’t give into the
anxiety you may feel because most of the things that we feel stress about are rather
meaningless.
Take a step
back, gain perspective, and work hard at enjoying the anticipation. Remember what Christmas was like when you were
a kid and recapture some of that joy, wonderment, and excitement.
This will
not only make you a happier person, but will ultimately allow you to host a more enjoyable traditional
Christmas.
