Paper
Chains
Step 1: Cut 4 cm strips width ways across A4 sized paper.
Step 2: Take one of the strips and curl it round so that the two ends meet and slightly
overlap.
Step 3: Tape, glue or these ends together to make a link.
Step 4: Take another strip of paper, push it through the first link and then curl it round so that
the two ends meet and slightly overlap.
Step 5: Again staple, glue or tape into position so that the first link hangs from the second
link
Continue adding until it reaches your desired length.
The paper chains look great hanging from ceilings, for decorating hallways and for draping around the Christmas
tree.
Tip: Try using different coloured paper (metallic paper works well) or get your children to colour
or scribble on their own. You can also use old Christmas cards. Just cut thin strips width ways across the picture
of the Christmas card to create more delicate paper chains.
